Growing the team

For the last few months we’ve been rolling up our sleeves and getting on with things: delivering basic digital skills training in Croydon and Lewisham, mentoring MPs and understanding how the NHS can deliver better end of life care for older people. We’ll publish findings from all of those projects in November, and share our plans for scaling the things that have worked.

An important part of doing this work has been understanding more about the skills we need. We’re a small team of specialists but we need to be more networked than we are, so we’re hiring some different kinds of people. Right now, we’re looking for these kinds of people:

Three new trustees to help steer the organisation

A managing director to lead on partnership development, fundraising and operational management, and growing commercial activity through our Community Interest Company

An office manager, to make sure everything runs smoothly

A part-time networks and engagement lead, to make sure we’re firmly anchored in the civic tech and social innovation world

A part-time policy lead, to help us understand what others are thinking in Whitehall, Westminster and beyond.

We’re an equal opportunities employer and diversity in the team is very important to us: we need people from all different perspectives, approaches and backgrounds. We’re working hard to push these job adverts as far as we can, using tools that make our recruitment fair and open.

And because we’re a small team and we’re hiring a lot of roles, it will be difficult for us to speak to everyone who’s interested in a role before they apply. So if in doubt, read the person spec and if it sounds like you, please send us your CV. We need motivated people who don’t ask for permission to do things — but we also know that new opportunities can feel inaccessible, so, once you’ve read everything, if you have a specific question please get in touch by emailing [email protected].

And, if you’re not one of these specific people, keep your eye on this blog, we hope to have other opportunities soon.
